As we expand our in-house engineering capabilities, we are seeking a technically strong, field-ready Chemical or Mechanical Engineer to support product innovation, installation quality, and customer success. This role reports directly to the President.

Position Overview
The Engineer will play a central role in the design, testing, installation, and technical support of JAMMBCO’s industry-leading hardware. This dynamic, hands-on role blends engineering analysis with onsite fieldwork and direct customer engagement.
You will:
- Conduct engineering design and calculations
- Produce accurate CAD drawings for manufacturing
- Perform on-site assessments and installation supervision
- Diagnose process issues and recommend corrective actions
- Collaborate with Sales to support new business opportunities
- Work closely with Operations and R&D to improve product performance
This position is ideal for an Engineer who enjoys practical problem-solving, being in the field, and making meaningful improvements to critical industrial processes.
Key Responsibilities
1. Engineering & Technical Delivery
- Lead and execute engineering design for JAMMBCO’s product lines
- Prepare accurate calculations, CAD drawings, and technical documentation
- Support and supervise installation activities at customer sites worldwide
- Diagnose process inefficiencies, equipment problems, and performance deviations
- Provide post-installation technical support and troubleshoot operational issues
2. Customer Operations & Field Support
- Conduct on-site kiln and process system assessments
- Recommend engineered solutions that improve efficiency and product performance
- Support installation and commissioning to ensure successful adoption
- Maintain strong customer relationships through clear, reliable communication
- Evaluate field conditions and incorporate feedback into future design improvements
3. Sales & Business Development Collaboration
- Partner with Sales to provide technical insight during quoting and proposal development
- Assess customer operations and identify opportunities for JAMMBCO hardware
- Assist with ROI analysis and engineered solution justification
- Participate in early-stage discussions for major accounts and new applications
4. Internal Collaboration & Continuous Improvement
- Work with Operations to ensure accurate engineering-to-production handoff
- Contribute to product development initiatives that improve durability, performance, and serviceability
- Strengthen internal engineering processes, documentation standards, and design controls
- Support R&D efforts, prototype testing, and validation activities
The Ideal Candidate — Qualifications & Attributes
Education & Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in chemical engineering (or Mechanical Engineering with relevant experience)
- 3–10 years of engineering experience in heavy industry preferred
- Experience in cement, pulp/paper, mining, aggregates, kilns, or process systems is highly desirable
Technical Skills
- Strong understanding of process engineering fundamentals and industrial thermodynamics
- Proficiency with CAD software (SolidWorks, Inventor, or AutoCAD Mechanical)
- Ability to produce accurate, manufacturable drawings and design packages
- Experience interpreting field measurements, tolerances, and installation constraints
- Strong troubleshooting abilities and comfort diagnosing issues in operational environments
- Ability to analyze performance data and recommend corrective actions
Field & Behavioural Competencies (Critical for Success at JAMMBCO)
- High comfort level supervising industrial installations in hot, noisy, and active environments
- Strong safety awareness and professional conduct on customer sites
- Reliable, detail-oriented, and able to follow through on commitments
- Low drama; steady temperament under pressure
- Strong communication skills with both technical and non-technical audiences
- Ability to work independently
- Strong sense of ownership and accountability for technical outcomes
Additional Requirements
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, PowerPoint, Outlook & Teams)
- Valid, clear driver’s license and ability to travel commercially
- Ability to travel frequently, including internationally (10–30% travel, including overnights
- Legally eligible to work in Canada
